Anyone else experienced slow skill gains lately?
I'm macroing tracking with one char and gained 0.2 so far in half a day at 108 skill. I remember tracking as being pretty fast? Like this is won't even increase by 1.0 a day. Also been sparring fencing with a spear for about 40 hours and gained from 97.6 to 101.2... That's 0.09 skill per hour, sounds more like the rate I had at 130+, not around 100, with my warrior. At this rate I will have to spar for 16 days STRAIGHT just to cap fencing, and since skill gains slow down the higher you get I assume it will be way longer, maybe even an entire month.
Maybe I'm out of luck with skill gains right now, but I'm looking at macroing/sparring until next year just to get a somewhat usable character.

That rate seems to be about right for what I was experiencing with my warrior. Took like a solid week to get 88 mace fighting. And how are there people with spec 5 base crafters? Mining is so fucking slow. At the rate mining is now it'd probably take 1/2 a year

Really? Mining wasn't too bad right after the wipe and pol version update, I think it was the first skill I capped.
0.4 gains so far since yesterday around the same time -_- Either sparing like this is really ineffective or gains have been slowed down, doubt they would change the skill gain rate this late though..

I've been using spear and swift spear with 130 dex. But I'm re-equipping every now and then to repair and stuff, only makes it a little slower though. I don't attack as fast as sparing with a skinning knife but the skill gains are ridiculously slow even considering xD

we have spar weapons now for donations see donations tread p.s. i get the feeling the implementation of the new core did make skill gains a little slower.

are the spar weapons swift too? otherwise you can make 20 with a crafter quickly and setup an arm macro

While sparing weapons might help, will you be looking in to the slower skill gains? For me it's not the end of the world because I have other characters, but for new players it will mean they won't get into the game as fast, right?

Haha, okay well I'm not gonna donate to buy items, but if the server is stable and staff seem committed and trustworthy... Skill gains might need to be looked at anyway. I got to 130 str and dex and all I have got to show for it skills wise is 108 macefighting and around 95 fencing xD

PS ironclad it's not always the highest speed. Sometimes you want the most predictable range of damage (denoted by the dice roll.) Did some reading and apparently the Warhammer is the best for this. (Anydice.com)
